Audiophile Problems!!

I am trying to avoid going to the dealer for this...This morning my 6 disc audiophile unit wouldnt move through the changer...It is stuck in the 5th cd spot....It acts like it is jammed in there somehow...Anyone have any idea if I could fix this myself?? I was gunna try unplugging the battery for a few seconds and see if maybe it just needed a reset....Dealer told me they have to take it out and ship it to Denver....1-2 weeks!! I'm not gunna drive a loaner for 2 weeks waiting for my cd player to be fixed.......

I don't think they'd give you a loaner... probably just pull your HU and ship it off and you drive with a hole in the dash (unless you can convince them to give you one out of a used one on the lot or one that they have on the shelf -- good luck with this).

Not sure what to tell you on it being jammed though... seems like one other person had a HU jam problem once prior as well.

Try having the radio on, then pressing the 3 & 6 preset buttons simultaneously. That puts the radio into a diagnostic mode. If you then press the CD button, it will do a CD diagnostic. Although When I did this it didn't really seem to move the changer mechanism to test anything. Worth a shot though.

also try pulling the radio fuse from the dash fuse panel to see if it would reset it.

You wont get loaner they just pull your head unit out 123 so its more like you will have no tunes to listen to for 2 weeks instead. Did you play cdrs you made yourself. I know when it gets cold outside the labels like to come off.

I found this post when I searched; my 6CD unit is also stuck and won't play or eject CDs. When I put it in diagnostic mode it came up with the errors B1342 and B2406. Does anyone know what this is telling me? I've already gone to the dealer and they've ordered me a new unit, but if I could get the discs out myself I think I'd be better off.

Why would you want a head unit thats giving you problems when they're ordering a new one for your vehicle? I'd want the new one over the older one any day just due to the fact its newer.

Sorry, I meant I'd be better off getting the CDs out myself than letting them try to get them out. I'm pretty sure they don't do any work on the radios at the dealer, and the one of the guys I spoke to about it didn't know who it would be sent to for repair.

Am i missing something or how are they going to get him a new one if they can't duplicate the problem?

If the truck is still under warranty go get a new radio unit. Never mind fixing it your self. Let some else do it for free (warranty).
