My truck wouldnt be the same without...

Mr. Clean auto dry kit!!! My truck is black and not having to wipe it down at all has really saved me from some scatches, I'm sure. And now that I have got some chrome wheels the things even more enjoyable! I can remember having my Lowriders with wire wheels and I would have to literaly dry spoke by spoke so that rust wouldnt from! If I had this gadget back then it would have been great! I can already see the difference from where I used a MicroFiber cloth on my moms 05 Maxima and the Mr. Clean rig on my truck which is a year old already! Good stuff man!

How do you use the thing? I have seen them in stores, just figured it was worthless if you really wanted a clean truck.

I used it just a few times after buying one from auto zone.

Its "okay" not the best. I also have a black, but still leaves water spots on the windows and paint if not dried off compleatly. The soup runs out fast on it, and I think u have to change the filter every 3 times u wash your truck or if won't rinse good and will leave more spots.

Bassically it is garbage, and now it's where it belongs, in a dump somewhere where I threw it out 2 weeks after I got it.

To further the madness, anyone use one due to having hard water? From what I hear it's supposed to soften the water, but I'm not sold on it. I got horribly hard water so I been using Meg's NXT wash which claims to have softeners.

Man the things awsome and does work!

1. Rinse truck with regular water setting.
2. Soap truck with "special" soap and mitt/sponge, etc..
3. Rinse again with regular water.
4. Finally rinse with purified water setting.

Watch it dry! It doesnt bead up eigther nor does it actually run off, It kinda evaporates away! No spots at all and the cracks and seems dry out as well. No need to hand dry youre chrome wheels or get up in the bed to dry the roof, Its done! And the next time you wet it youre wax is good as new!

You have to buy a refill water purifier($5.00) And soap($5.50) when you need it. I wash my truck every Wendsday, Saturday and Monday and the soap and purifier last me 1 1/2-2 months.

Perhaps it was the "soup" you put in it. Avoid the Campbell's Chunky!!!

I hate to argue, But I have a totally different outcome when I use mine! Maybe you have super hard water or something???

I don't see how it prevents rust though, it is still water, it is just ran through a filter media (probably activated carbon) very similar to a 'Britta' or a 'PUR' filter. This process removes a lot of the stuff that's in tap water, like calcium, lime, all that crap that leaves those white water spots. If you have really bad water, it won't remove ALL of it and the filter will get spent very quickly and is probably why some people have different experiences.

I tried the Mr. Clean Autodry thingy a while ago, I wasn't especially impressed given the results and the effort. As Tritoneer said (oh God, I'm agreeing with him...) it'll still water spot if you don't dry completely. After all the running back and forth to wet, soap, rinse, rinse, I might as well have mixed up a bucket of normal car wash solution and washed and dried it myself. Work when it's cool and in the shade if possible, and water spots will be minimized, and use good towels for drying.
