Buying New Headlights for HID Retrofit - You decide which to buy!!!! Pics Included!!!

Hey Guys,

So as many of you know I'm doing an HID retrofit for my truck. The projectors are LS430 projectors and will look like this:

LS430 Projectors: It's the chrome projector and shroud (piece of chrome metal around it) to the right in the headlight.

Either way I go with headlights, I'm going to use the chrome bulb instead of the amber bulb in the turn signal.

However, because I have a chrome bumper, grill surround, and billet grill; I can't go with the Harley Style headlights. So I'm sticking with the OEM chrome. I'm stuck between plain OEM headlights, or the OEM headlights with clear corners. I just don't want to look too "Ricey" or Honda civic type crap.

Help me decide with the pics below. Every opinion is accepted here and I really want to know what you guys think because you have good taste (for the most part )

Headlight Option #1:

Headlight option #2

Here is a picture of the truck for reference:

I'm not using someones stock lights because the stock lights have an apoxy or glue that can't be opened by the heat method. (heating them up and prying them apart)

Or if you're referring to someone who already did a retrofit: Because these LS430s will perform better then any HID projector ever made. They have been modified to bi-xeon, and had a color mod to give color to the cutoff. I will post pictures of the projector's output tomorrow.

Hey RP,

Yeah, HIDPlanet used Q45 projectors. His projectors are single xeon (low beam only) and are more of a "for looks" projector. While they definitely blow away halogen, they are "ok" in terms of HID lighting.

These LS430s are by far the best HID lighting there is. It's not even questionable, with modification, they put out more color, more light, wider beam, and sharper cutoff.

I'm just stuck as to which headlight to use. Which one do you think?

Thanks again,

Duke

Roger that batman...

I don't see a lot of difference between the two honestly and thus, I say flip a coin...

HEADS = first set
TAILS = second set

I'm pretty useless on this conversation... I'll go back to work now.

Haha, don't go back to work!! Slacking is so much more fun. I'm lucky I guess, I took the morning off to get the exhaust finished. I'll take pics after I detail this weekend and show off the detail job and the new tips.

The only difference in the two headlights I'm deciding between (actual headlight, not the projector) is one has the clear corner and one has the orange corner. I just don't want the clear corners to look too "ricey" so I thought I'd get some opinions.

Thanks again,

Duke

Yeah, is that a lamborghini countach?

.......or a kit car?

As for the lights, go for the ones with the clear corners.
I can't wait to see the final product!

The car is actually a Pantera.

Votes are as follows:

RP - voting for a coin
04screw98cobra - clear corners

Come on this is a hugely opinionate forum, there have to be more opinions out there. I bet if I called RP a name, I'd get a lot of attention!!!

Thanks,

Duke
