Attention RockPick

You really need to be more professional. On 99% of sites a moderator would not have responded to me the way you did. It is really easy to be the mighty and powerful OZ behind the curtain. I would appreciate you treating us like adults.

FYI, on many automotive sites a thread that a moderator does not like, such as an off topic, the thread does not vanish or lock. The thread stays but it is warned and is kept from being refreshed and moved to the appropriate forum.

But remarks like this are perfectly fine on this forum.

Looking at what you've posted, I don't think the thread should have been removed without notice but you too did not have to publicly scrutinize RP, this could have been done via email. In my opinion, he could have let you know or given a warning, regardless of forum policy.

Regardless, it doesn't deserve a topic here in the 04-06 forum, just leave it be bud, continue posting.

Crand002,

For a split second I gave you the benefit of doubt and figured that maybe, just maybe your thread didn't deserve to be deleted. Then I found your follow up to your thread. Now I'm certain it deserved to be deleted just as this one does and most likely will.

Speak to RP personally about this and do not start a thread about it. You are making unpopular comments about a popular person. Thus it will not make you a popular person on the site.

RP was just upholding the rules of the site which are plain as day at the top of the thread posting box that I'm currently typing in.

15,000 posts and RP is still a highly respected individual who has used his personal time to implement the rules of this site. He deserves our graditude for upholding the rules, even when it includes deleting your thread without notice.

I hope that you understand the reason that your thread was deleted and the reason why it is inappropriate to start this thread in response to your dissatisfaction.

It is my thinking that letting this go, and apologizing for this thread (as you were in the wrong by posting on two non-topic appropriate items), will prove to be a much more beneficial relationship with this site. Everyone is always willing to help the nice guy with information and good deals through EMAIL or the CLASSIFIEDS. Please be the nice guy and not the other.

Thanks,

Duke

I don't think he was trying to contact any of the supporting vendors

I would like to add a little to this thread as I have noticed other threads. moved out of the foroum for being off topic. I don't see what the big deal is for beeing off topic. for instance if I hang out in this foroum alot and know alot of people who do too and want to post a thread not specificly related to the 04-06 f150 but do want to speak to those people who visit this foroum regularely what is the big deal. I do go to some of the other foroums on this site but not all of them. I mostly come here and there is sure to be alot of threads that might be mostely only approved for the general discussions that might get posted here that I might be interested in seeing. so I could see freezing the post and linking us to the other forroum if we want to see it but why erase it. I often will start a tread but have to rethink my wording so it sounds like it is specific tword the 04-06 f150 so it dosn't get moved. I don't know why but it just dosn't seem right. I guess it is the rules and rp is charged with enforceing the rules but I think a little "looking the other way" wouldn't hurt either or giveing warnings if looking the other way isn't appropreate.

The reason that I did not speak to RockPick personally is because of how he approached me. By the way he handled it I feel that it needs to be made public. I never clalled him names just questioned his practice.

As far as the rule I did not see it, plain and simple. Now when I look up it is hard to miss. However, I do most of my typing at work or away from my desk so I use my phone (Blackberry 8700, I think that is the model and thats why my posts are usually short), which has a tiny screen. In the future I will not use this method because I cannot see that rule. I am also in a Viper forum and Mustang forum which does not have this rule so you can understand the confusion. On those forums I have been politely notified both publically and by PM with rules that I failed to follow, usually being Kill Stories(i.e. "I just killed some Ferrari", etc.).

I apogize for posting on this thread and not in the off topic but I am not sure how many here would actually take notice.

Boo ****ing hoo. So your poor thread got closed. It's not like someone stole something from you, or took something away from you. It's a doggone forum for God's sake, it's not even real life. I mean, it is but it's not. If you had read the rules when you signed up, and not been ignorant of said rules, then we wouldnt even be posting in here, would we? Please, do us all a favor, grow up and move on with it. Thanks...

I am sure everyone on this remembers all the rules. Sorry pal I, I am not that cool I don't keep it in my back pocket. I am not upset about my thread being closed, I am upset by publically be put down by a moderator who at anytime can close a thread.

RP has done the same to me without any notification whatsoever. Hell, my post was directly on point, but because other members turned my post into a moral debate rather than what it was intended for, my entire thread was removed, rather than just removing the offending posters.

But, you need to understand that this is RPs baby (for the most part), and he can do as he wishes here. This is not a public forum. Rp doesn't get paid (from what I understand) to monitor this site. Whether the site generates any revenue from advertisements is another question altogether, and if so, then maybe moderators should practice equity and fairness towards members or risk losing their patronage. But you can't expect RP to have the time to meticulously read through each offending post and decipher which warrants removal and which doesn't when you yourself have failed to read the rules of the site clearly posted on the opening forum. One who seeks equity must do equity...

Crand, if I think someone is being picked on for no reason; I will be the first to say something. I have said my piece in a few threads in the past when I thought someone was being picked on. In this case, after reading your Original post I do think you are over reacting. I have been corrected in the past too, as a matter of fact, I think allot of people on this site have been. So, with that said, just let it go, and keep posting. By the way, I don't have a copy of the rules in my back pocket either......
