OEM leathers done in front, but...

I got OEM tan leathers done in front, but I cant get the back seat out. I haven't even attempted the backrest for the back seat. I'm talking about the bottom seat for for the back. I took out the bolts on the sides of the seats and the ends by the doors will come loose, but where the 70% and 30% come together, I cant get the darn thing apart. HELP!!!

If you loosen everything off as much as you can. Flip the seats half way up andf push them towards the center of the truck. The rod that the seat pivots on should slide out of the end nearest the outsides of the truck. Not sure but you may have to remove the backrest part first.

Where the 70% and 30% come together there is a PLASTIC C-clip that holds the two seats together. Just put your fingers between where the two seats meet and pull up on the clip. Get a flashlight and shoot it some light, and you will see what I am talking about.

I'm not sure if the technique that you are trying is possible. The 70%/30% cushions indeed bolt to the ends of the seat bracket, but where they unite is a metal post that allows each cushion to pivot. If you were to unbolt the seat bracket from the floor using a #55 torx bit and then try to swing the seat bracket out of the way I don't know if you can get enough room to pull the seat cushions off on the center pivot post.

I removed the backrest first and then unbolted the bottom seat bracket and removed it completely before separating the seat cushions.

Removal of the back seat backrest is actually quite simple. Find the outter most carseat anchor. That is where the clips are located that hold the backrest in place. Simply press in on those 2 clips and while slightly pushing up on the backrest. This will free the backrest from the truck so you can have access to the 4 fastners that hold the lower seat bracket to the floor.

Here is the pic of my rear seat finished. Just completed this mod today when the upholstery guy dropped off the bottoms.

aaahhhhh!! The feel and smell of new leather
