Two Tone - Anyone with Dark Stone and AZ Beige
Two Tone - Anyone with Dark Stone and AZ Beige
I have an 04 Az Beige Screw. Just installed Xenon flares, black billet grill, body colored door handles and mirrors, Bilsteins, leveling kit, N fab nerfs, 20 x 10 Demoda Black Intimidators with 305/50/20 Terragrapplers. I have seen the Dark Stone and Arizona Beige Lariat two tone on the Ford website.......What do you think that would look like inverted? I am thinking it would make the truck look higher, and probably would look pretty slick. Anyone seen anything similar?

I feel your pain, I too have an Arizona Beige Screw that I want to 2-tone. The problem is, Arizona beige IS the lower tone on most trucks! I work in a body shop and have been racking my brain for 6 month on this one and have come up with two combos that would (I think) work OK together. One is the Briarwood pearl used on the 06 Lexus Ls430's, it's sort of a brownish/gold that in person is a nice looking color. The other color is the Darkstone or Smokestone on the 06's. What color is your interior?

On the other hand, if you look at the '06 brochure, you'll see the Smokestone over Arizona Beige two-tone color in the Lariat section. It looks good, but the picture only shows the beige hue of the Smokestone - I'd really be curious to see how it looks from multiple angles.
BTW, I have a Smokestone SCrew with the chrome package.

I have the Oxford white with the dark stone lower two tone, and I want to have it painted oxford. I think the monotone is the way to go, but If you do go with the lower 2 tone, you should have the Xenons painted in the same color. I had mine painted the DS and it looks kind of cool. When I finally get the nerve up to have the lower painted, I'm getting them painted white though.
Either way you chose, I'm sure it'll look pretty sweet!
Great ideas. I will get some pics posted after I get it finished up. Goes into the shop next week for paint work, thus my need to come up with a lower color. Also ordered a black aluminum gas door filler. I like the monotone, but with the Xenon front and rear bumper covers and flares, I think it will end up looking like my 'Euro' white 78 datsun pickup I had in high school....too much of a good thing. The contrast is important, it just needs to be executed correctly. The interior of the truck is tan.
I have also thought of going light with the Smokestone down low....I have seen pictures of the Smokestone, but have not seen it in person. I may need to spend a day driving dealer lots and come up with something more brown-tan and lighter than the Dark Stone, but not as light as Smokestone. Cwelk - Great advice. I checked out the Lexus Briarwood color...very very nice, and subtle, it might work. I could even go a shade lighter.
Dave N - the more I look at it, the more I have to agree, the color does have a lot of depth and variation, but it is DARK! I just thought the easy way out would be duplicating a factory color scheme. I want to put the HD headlights on as well to minimize any'shiny' chrome look.
I have owned the truck for almost 2 years and have done nothing to it. After I saw that the truck isn't worth crap for resale, and considering it is relatively low mileage and I really enjoy it, I decided to spend a little cash and 'revitalize' it. Actually, I needed new tires, and that set everything else in motion
Thanks for the input; I will take a hard look at that Lexus color and also see if I can run down a Smokestone to look at up close.

Arizona Beige over Infiniti Titanium
Here is what I ended up with

Just enough contrast and accent, not overly dark. Thanks for the suggestions on schemes.....I think it came out good!
