Vibration got worse after Road Force Balance

I was getting a little steering wheel vibration from my 24s around 65-70 mph. I decided to have the wheel road force balanced hoping it would solve it or at least make it better. Anyways after having the RFB the vibration is worse. WTF is going on? Could it be the truck? It rides smooth as glass with the stock wheels. Someone please help me.

You sure its not those ghetto streets in Ptown. I remember Portsmouth was pretty ghetto lol, course where I live, Bad News wasnt much better.

If the vibration started after the install of new rims, Id be suspsicious if a bent rim or something. Good luck.

Maybe the shop just didn't balance the wheels properly.

ive always had good luck after a road force, but from what i hear they are time consuming and tedious to do right. i would venture they either didnt actually road force it, or they did it wrong

Make sure they torque the wheels properly. Impact guns cause a lot of this.

Since it was OK before the tire/wheel change I would venture to guess either a bent wheel or an out of round tire.
Or it could be that with low profile tires this caused the lack of a taller sidewall on the tire to be able to absorb road vibration from non-perfect road surfaces. The lower profile sidewall of the tire is much stiffer and allows for very little sidewall flex and transfers the feel of every little imperfection the tire runs over.
I had a like problem on my F-450 Superduty 4x4. I had problems getting the tires/wheels on my F-450 balanced. I tried a set of Centramatic wheel balancers and they work like a dream. I will never have to get my tires and wheels balanced again on these vehicle. Only thing is at very slow speeds you can hear the balance media make a swish sound, but this disapprears somewhere around 15MPH.
The other problem was that the factory shocks were shot after 10,000 miles. They were covered under warranty.

This is actually my second set of 24s. The first set I bought were switched out for the ones I have now, because they couldn't get them to balance out. They took over 20 ozs to balance out. I watched them balance them and took very little weight. What is a Centramatic wheel balancer?

Any after market wheel should be checked for run out "before" mounting your tires. This will allow you to return or swap out the wheels, because most will not accept a wheel for return after a tire was mounted on it.
Ant road force machine is capable of this.

As stated, they are a set of wheel balance disc that mount between your tires and wheels. You simply slip them on over the wheel studs then mount the tire/wheel on and tighten.
You can read more about them at www.centramatic.com
Mine work great. Good luck.

You might want to give them a call and tell them what you have. They may have something that will work buy no listed on their website. These folks are nice as can be and will do what it takes to earn your business. They also have a shop on hand that deals with suspension and steering situations.

Well they said due to the location of the brake caliper they dont have anything for 1/2 tons. It is in the works, but won't be available until next year.
