I really like the truck, like I said, nothing major has gone wrong, it's just a bunch of little things that are annoying the hell out of me. Guess that's what I get for being an '04 F150 "beta tester."

Oh yeah, I remembered this morning too, my limited slip clutches are starting to chatter a bit. Somedays, you're the dog, somedays, you're the fire hydrant...

I read the post by Quintin and I think of the Doctor's wife that has to take the kids to see another Doctor. Or something my Uncle told me years ago. Never judge a Mechanic by the vehicle he drives.

I totally understand where your coming from. I hate having to fix stuff on my own vehicles. I like modifying them, just not repairing them.
So far this 04 has been the most problematic truck I've owned. Nothing catastrophic yet but just annoying stuff. My rear diff is howling, my rear clutch packs are chattering, the PATS interface on my remote start isn't working, rear axle seals are leaking, ABS light on constantly, the list goes on. I used to like to do all of the warranty work on my own trucks but now I don't even care. I book it in the shop so I don't have to bother with it. I just drive it till it comes time to trade it off. No sense getting attached.

I have lots of the same type of problems, including the tailgate squeak, and the brake pulsation

Yeap. It's got a little rink-a-dink piece of spring wire or something that goes limp. The first time, I'd always just pop it and let it swing shut under it's own weight, so I figured I broke it. The second one, I'd always open and close the fuel filler door as if it were made of glass, and it broke again. This most recent one seems to be holding up okay now though.
