After my 3rd therapy session I no longer am looking out my office window, excessive compulsively, in fear of someone parking next to my truck. Plan #1: I'm thinking about getting some crime scene tape and roping my truck off like Less Nessman did with his office area on WKRP in Cincinnati. I will keep you posted as this is the topic for my 4th therapy session. Plan #2: Mounting HIGH EXPLOSIVE signs on the sides of my truck
lol...nice
I just took my truck down to DentPro and they quoted me for $174 for one 1.5" dent and 3 little quarter inch dents. Does that seem like alot?

Local dent docotor usually charges about $50 for a small ding. If it is on a body crease, it could be up to $100. Usually they cut you a break on the small ones when you are getting several done at once. I just had one taken out that was in the body crease and another small one and only cost $100.

$174 is probably reasonable. I would estimate $150 from my local dent doctor from your decription.

Dents suck, worse than a scratch in my mind.

Ladders on freeways.

Dude I can relate. What gets me is rock hauling trucks and people who dont tie down ladders in the back of their trucks. I was driving to work and the truck 2 cars in front of me lost a ladder, the car in fornt of me hit it and went it flying in to my beautiful FX4. It left a nice ding and some scraches. I got the ding removed for $45. Great deal. Still got scratches. A couple months later a rock truck dropped a large rock and luckily hit my windshield and not the truck. The windo recived a soccer ball sized spider crack. Good thing I have free window replacement

My wife cant stand the way I park. She asks me if stores offer shuttle service from where I park.

Home Depot and WalMart are the worst. I park as far away as possible with a curb on at least one side.
Our wife's must know each other.. I get this crap all the time from her when we go out. My truck has never seen walmarts parking out and will never.. The one by me is the worse and I fear for the life of my truck in there.. The wife drives since her car is older and will be kept for this kind of crap..

Just get the plate of the idiot's truck that lost the rocks and ladder. It is against the law to have ANYTHING fall from your truck while you are hauling it. Its called Failure to Secure Load where Im from. They will pay or their insurance will pay. You should not have to pay for damage caused by a moron's items falling from his moving truck.

Get this, first day with the truck...door ding (ONLY ding on it) and it's in the crease. 2nd day, I'm doing 25, a dude coming the other way is doing 10 and we clash mirrors! His fault, he's driving a tow truck. We both stop and there is ZERO damage to my mirror, electrical and cosmetically. My God Ford did something right...the strongest damn thing on the truck!

So reading this thread, it occurred to me that I'm not the only one who uses the wife's car for hazardous driving in "Mart" parking lots or anywhere else there is the potential for small children and bicycles!

I've got a baby on the way and I swear to God I've already been thinking about the first time he comes barreling into the garage not paying attention to what he's doing and bangs into the side of Blue with his trike!

Or is it:

Or even:

i havent heard that one before, but its pretty damn funny. i usually park as far away as possible in big lots and take up as many spaces as i can in the back. usually around 4 haha. but i do have to deal with my university apartment parking lot. this is usually how it turns out:

me in the corner about 1/2 inch from the curb and 6 feet away from the line. its the biggest space in the lot and i freak out if i cant get it!

...or a decent part of town.

Picture from Madisonville, Kentucky -- F3 went through last week. That's a very good friend of mine's house... or what's left of it.

If the wind blows hard enough you will get a ding on you door. Have you ever taken out you door speakers and noticed how thin the door skins are.

Your lucky, in my town the white car would be wedged between your truck and the cavlier. On the subject of nerf bars, they do work to ward off small cars. I work at Wal-Mart (don't hate me) and was sittin outside during my break a couple days ago and got the joy of watchin one of those Fugly little chevy aveo's door bounce off my bars. There was two women in it and although i was out of hearing range just judging by their actions I think they were freakin out cause their paint got chipped......not a mark on my Bully's. Muwahahahaha

Really, not the manual ones. I was driving the work 04 XL and a guy driving a 99 F-150 came left of center and TWACK.... Knocked his mirror clean off, mine was hardly hanging on. He paid for it cash (no need to get cops/insurence involved for a $100 mirror) and it took me about 1/2 hour to replace.

On my 04 XLT 4x4 the one and only dent I have in my pass side door happened at home. One of the kids opened the van door into my trucks door and it still ticks me off to no end. Now I park on the back side of the garage and take 2 bays for myself. Of corse now the side of the van and the ranger look like crap.... damn kids.

I'm with you. Got side molding from a local body shop supply shop and put it on myself. I had the truck only one day and saw that protruding door panel was at the exact height for my wife's Honda Accord door to cause trouble. $25 for the molding and 15 minutes installation = door ding problem solved forever. Mine isn't as thick as yours to stick far enough out of the door indentation so I put it just above it . Almost 2 years and it is still there. Can't believe Ford does not put it on at the factory, they don't even have it as an accessory.

I have done the same since I bought my truck over a year ago. And I will do it until I sell it.
