I been thinking about getting new exhaust on my truck. I have an 05 with a 5.4. I know this has been talked about before, but I am not sure what exhaust to go with? The big thing is, I want to keep it quiet is the cab. I don't want that drone. I had a 99 4.6 with Magnaflow, single outlet. It wasn't bad, but having a new truck, I kinda like it quiet. I am after performance and maybe a little bit of sound. Would Gibson be the way to go? What do you guys think? I pull trailers often and I was told at some point that duals out the rear wasnt the way to go. Is this true? Tell me what you guys think? Thanks, Eric

 

I think Magnaflow has a great sound with little or no drone in the cabin. Its quality is good and it is available in SISO (single out the side) or SIDO (dual out the back) or side exit.
I am not a fan of the dual rear exit straight out the back on a pickup (looks trashy IMO), but to each their own.
It has also proven to actually give the truck a few extra ponies, and not effect low end torque.

A Magnaflow would fit the bill. For towing go SI/SO and to keep it quiet use the 24" muffler. If you want something even nicer Borla and Bassani have some beautiful products for these trucks. Of course, you will pay for them!

 

My vote is for Borla. I love mine. SIDO. The sound is awesome. Punch into it and roars. On the highway you don't even no it's there unless you romp into it. You won't be sorry.
