Talking Went to track again tonight... Hit 15s!!!!

Hit the track up tonight because the weather tonight was worlds better than it was the last time (80 degrees and 90% humidity). Tonight when I was running my truck was reading 51 degrees and the humidity right now on weather.com is at 50% for the track area.

Here is my best run info

60ft... 2.315
330.... 6.556
1/8.... 10.057
Mph... 70.85
1000.. 13.048
1/4.... 15.623
mph... 86.93

Ran w/ a hair less than a 1/4 tank of gas and no spare tire. Still had the trailer hitch and tailgate on. Only mods are the ones listed in the sig.

I also ran once with 25psi in the tires and again w/ 22psi... Neither got the best grip on launch but I was pulling better 60fts this time.

Sweet man! That truck is going to be very quick once you begin modifying it. Kenne Bell?

Yes, #1 is true. Hard launches will kick the fuel back and can starve the pump out. I think 1/4 tank is enough for as hard as this truck launches though. At E the truck still has around 4-5 gallons of gas, so at 1/4 tank, it's around 10 gallons of gas still in the tank. I've always try to run w/ a 1/4 tank of gas. When I was spraying the old one I started doing 1/2 tank. Gas doesn't weigh too much anyway though. It's like 6.?lbs per gallon I believe.

For the cooling of the pump, this is also true but I'm not sure how much heat the pump actually puts off and there are still around 10 gallons in at a 1/4 tank. If it kills my pump, then I have a walbro 190 pump that I never used in my old truck. Wonder if it would work in the new one?

Supercharger is on the list. Going to do a bunch of bolt-ons and get it down quick just N/A... I don't have the money for a supercharger right now and I want another vehicle to drive before I get too serious into this truck.

Great times Intel. Told you that truck was alot faster than that. Let's put another mark on the board for PROOF that the F150's can compete with the other RCSB trucks out there like the HEMI. Even the Titan is running about those times...maybe a tenth or two quicker with more HP, TQ and deeper gearing.

Get a tuner, inatek and exhaust and you will see some 14's...EASY !!

Good luck and congrats. Hope to be getting you guys some times after the SC install. Later.

hellbound your still my hero

On another note: In your mind do you REALLY think the 250 dollar secondary grounding unit for the COP is really worth it ?

Thanks hellbound!

I got a deal on some UD pulleys so I've been looking at doing a e-fan setup next. Just getting both those mods on there. After that I'm going to save up to get my concealed carry permit, and then I'm going to dig back into my truck. Intake and Tuner will be the next thing.

Can't wait to see what your truck does with that supercharger!!!

Great times for not having any mods. That's about what mine was running with tuner.

Nice times.

What do you think it would take a Scab 5.5ft box 5.4L 3.73LS to get into the 15s beside magnaflow custom catback and drop-in K&N? Also what size rims/tires you running and gears? Thanks

Not sure what they run stock...

From what I've heard the 5.4L responds well to mods. I only have mod and track experience with the 4.6l engine... and it didn't have close to the pickup out of the hole that this truck does. My old truck stock ran like a 2.7 60ft time early on with some bolt-ons. At the end it was doing 2.1 60fts.

I'd say do a tune first. It's usually the biggest help with these trucks. There is just so much they can control. I didn't notice much from my air intake on my old truck so I'd probably do e-fans and underdrives next followed closely by an exhaust setup. I had good luck with magnaflow.

Edit: Right now I'm running the stock 17" XLT wheels... The steel ones with a chrome hub cap. I also had the upgraded wheel package. Think it gave me like 255/??/17s.

I bought some 18" lariat wheels off ebay per Hellbound's suggestion. I haven't gotten tires for them yet though.

I think Hellbound will beat me to that point...

I plan on basic bolt-ons right now. I won't be supercharging until at least 3 years from now when the truck is paid off and I can buy a daily driver... and dig into the F-150 more. Edit: I won't be supercharging until I finish this major and get a job and can afford another vehicle... i.e. 5 more semesters if I'm lucky... hahaha... *sigh* what have I gotten myself into...

In what configuration?

I haven't seen anyone post their 4.6l times here but, if I had to guess, I'd say it's at least .5 seconds slower in similar configs. My old truck ran 17.4s stock with the 4.6l and comparable 5.4s were in the 16s. I'm actually not really sure but I'd be interested to see how these 4.6L engines are doing. They're good motors.
