need help
I am debating on buying a 2006F150(cowboy/OK edition). I am a first time buyer and can't decide if now is a good time to buy, or if it would be better to wait for better time of year. I just need someone to tell me the best time of year.....
The best time of year to buy is probably July through September, when the dealers still have "last year" trucks on their lot while at the same time receiving nearly identical trucks for the new model year.
That being said, good deals can be had ANY time of year if you're willing to work at it. If you're just a "walk in the showroom and tell me what the rebates are" kind of guy, you'll probably do better in a month or two. If you like and/or are willing to ****er, you can get a decent price right now, although you may have to shop the deal around a bit to find a dealer who wants to move a truck.
But in the end, you're probably not going to save so much money that it will have any big impact on your long-term operating cost for the vehicle.
Just my 2-cents...
PS -- There are some dealers that still have a few straggler '05 trucks lying around. If you could find one you like, you could probably swing a pretty sweet deal right now. However, you'll probably have to be open minded about it (colors, options, equipment, etc.) because your selection is likely to be extremely thin!

Looks like Ford stepped up a little. $2500 incentive plus $1000 cash back. I think thats the same thing Chevy is doing now.
