ive had problems with ford fixing my truck under the ORIGINAL warranty. The bottom line is everytime you present it for service under warranty, you are getting in their wallet. They will do anything to prevent this.
My brother bought a '95 Dodge Ram a few years back, paid a little bit more for it than others were going for because it had an aftermarket warranty on it. Right after he got it, the A/C went bad, tried to get it covered, but found out the only thing that was covered was the A/C compressor. The compressor was the only A/C component that still worked, and it cost him $900 to get it working again. Then the transmission started slipping (common Dodge auto tranny problem), and it got so bad that the only way to get it to move was in 4lo. Tried to get that covered, OOOPPS! sorry! They blamed that on "Normal wear and tear", a clause in the warranty contract. New tranny was $1700, and he decided that it just wasn't worth it to put the money into the stupid Ram, so he sold it for WAY under book value and bought an 02 FX4 SCAB (EXCELLENT truck, by the way).
Point is, you have to closely read the warranty contract to see exactly what they will cover. I don't remember the company that offered the warranty, but it was their "Premium coverage warranty", the best that they offered. If there is a clause that states something about normal wear and tear not being covered, beware, because they can blame a lot of problems on that. And remember, you can fix a lot of problem for $1500, especially if you do the work yourself.

I had an aftermarket warranty on my 88 Ford (not the company you mention)and it was like pulling teeth to get service from them. If you feel you need an extended warranty, I recommend going with the Ford ESP, at least then your dealing with a company endorsed by Ford. You may have more of a leg to stand on when dealing with warranty issues.

If you wanted to bring your business to light, all you had to do was say so. Having dealt with aftermarket warranty companies at the dealership level, I'll say in general that the logistics of them suck. And I don't think I'll be considering any warranties from you after the true purpose of this thread has come to light. I hope other members around here will do likewise.

I would check with who ever your going to have repair your truck or several local shops about the warranty plan. Most of them normally will let you know if they have had any issues with them. Find out from the company if there are any that they have had work done through. The ford ESP plan for my truck was going to be around $750 for 6/72 if I remember right and that price does vary from dealer to dealer. The aftermarket coverage I had on my last truck covered just about everything that could go wrong including a bad intake gasket. All my repairs were done by the local dealer through this warranty. Hope this info will help.

Who did you buy your warranty from? Dealer? If so what dealer? I don't think that is a bad price at all.
