Yeah I'm going to go to a Midas and a local guy who does exhaust on Thursday morning and see what their suggestions are. It depends how much they will charge in labor and parts to do either setup.

I know the new muffler 5X11X22 would be $98 and the resonator would be $53. I'm betting labor on the resonator would be a lot cheaper too.

I'll also have them or whoever weld all my connections for the entire setup.

I didn't know custom bending pipes and such would have been a cheaper route. Oh well, hard lesson learned, I can return it now.

I'll eventually mod out the engine a lot more in about three years. I plan on keeping the truck long term to tow future toys and work on my cabin project. It'll get replaced as a daily driver in roughly 3 to 5 years. That's when I plan on either super charging it, or doing headers, intake (might do next summer) and Xcal.

So the mandrel bend tubing I see as an investment in future performance. For now though I'd like to see it quieter. All though I'll be honest, the noise is quickly growing on me! I really don't mind it as much as I did the day I put it on. However, to get rid of the noise on slow but constant grades and noise on the highway, I have to choose to either do the new muffler or the resonator.

So lets hear some opinions:

Vote for-

1. 5X11X22 Magnaflow

OR

2. Resonator Magnaflow

I just had the 18'' Magnaflow installed on my '05 S'Crew. I paid about $90 for the muffler from Performance Peddler and $50 to have it installed.

I love it, almost as quiet as stock at idle. Nice deep tone when driving normally, great sound when getting in it. I could not be happier!

Well I appreciate the last two posts, they weren't exactly addressing the point of the post. Glad that people like the 18 inch maggie though...just trying to decide how to tame it.
