i still need to start the passenger side. and you prolly wouldn't want to pay what i would charge for labour. there are just too many hrs involved.

No big deal. I figured I ask and see if you want to sell a set. But from your pictures I have a very good idea as 2 how you did your retro.

Just have a few questions..

Did you get a set of fogs from the is300 and cut them up or you got the parts off ebay or what not..

Where did you mount the ballest?

Did you do the fog light mod to keep you fog lights on with your high beams so you dont hurt the HID bulbs?

complete is300 fogs. i cut them as far back as practical, as seen in the one pic. it doesnt matter where they come from.

i just sits perfectly ontop of the fog light(very little clearance, but not squished). i used alittle silicone to keep things from rattling. the wire is not long enough to mount anywhere else. forgot to get a pic of that.

yup, u have to. very easy to do. i didn't even bend my pin or cut a factory wire.

If you did not have to bend the pin or cut the factory wiring how did you do it then?

Riken Nov 15, 2005 06:16 PM

i soldered it right against the relay, at the very top of the pin. used superglue and put a thin coat on both sides, let it dry. done.
the glue can easily be chipped off when needed. everthing else i tryed sheared off (tape).

Thats a great idea.. SO you just soldered on a wire and grounded it out.. I think I am going to have to go this route.

Thanks

nice, I just don't like yellow lights, halogens are as yellow as I'm willing to go. Light output looks good though. I want to put a mccoulough set in there or however you spell it.

actually the yellow is for fog conditions, it doesn't reflect near the amount of glare as white hids off the moisture. i still use them all the time on country roads.

^^^ He is very right. The HID setup I have in my fogs is really useless at helping with fog...but it makes regular viewing absolutely great!

It's a give and take.

I **LOVE** the yellow look -- especially with nice HID's on the heads. That IS300 look is EXACTLY what I wanted to do with my 2001 that had Xenarcs. Nice mod!!!
