i assume you are talking an fm modulator as in the piece of wire that acts as an antenna. circuit city sells an fm modulator that plugs in between your truck antenna and the radio. it also plugs into the sirrius unit where the wire antenna goes. when you turn the sirius on it opens a relay and disconnects your truck antenna from your radio thereby getting rid of any interference. i put one in my truck and i would say the sound is as good as cd. this sells for 19.99.

PIE is simple to install. I don't know of any FM modulator that sounds like a CD. Lots of people here have installed a PIE unit, they'll tell you the same thing.

What I mean is: I'm currently using a FM modulator and it sounds like total crap! Lookin to go with the PIE and hoping it will give me CD quality sound. Am I on the right track?

I see everyone has the XM, But I have the SIRIUS Sportster/R unit. Does it make a difference? Where does the PIE eventually plug into? Does it go where I have my FM modulator plugged in now?
