i'm thinking of doing this on my darkstone xlt instead of getting a billet grille.i love the stock honeycomb grille but of course would like to keep it black instead of the lariet beige.i think this is part of the new chrome package on the 06 xlt's.if anyone has one on their xlt post a pic.

I've been looking to do the same thing with the Harley grille, but what I've found is you need to purchase an entire Lariat grille then just use the surround. That's the only way my partsman can figure out doing it since they don't come seperate and I also checked eBay but found nothing there.
If you can find where to just get that chrome surround let me know.

I swapped mine with a XL/chrome surround. It came as a whole unit. Something to think about

I bought a Lariat grille shell and insert off of EBAY for $67 shipped. I put the whole unit on my dark stone XLT, but ended up keeping the beige lariat insert, and going back to my dark stone surround, as you can see below. The chrome trim was a little much for my taste. It really looks alot better with the two tone lariat paint scheme IMO. I still put it on there from time to time, just for a change of pace...
I dont think I have a pic of my truck with that shell on... that would give you a REAL good idea of what yours would look like!

Fender Flares/Protectors

TrukMupper - where did you get your fender flares/protectors? I like them, as they don't protrude as much as many others I've seen.
Wish I could find something like that to run along the side of the doors to protect them from careless people in parkinglots...

I got them from Ford Parts Network. http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com/
They are the OEM wheel lip moldings that come on the FX4.
BEWARE: you will have to drill 72 holes in the side of your truck to install these.

I've been thinking of doing the same on my XLT. I like the look of the chrome honeycomb
grille witht the chrome bumpers. www.f150store.com They have a factory chrome lariat
grille. A little pricey though, $299.95. I've checked ebay and also have posted in the classifeds as well. Let me know how your search goes.
