I used to have a Daystar kit and it was a great kit but I'd get the Autospring 2.5" because it is redesigned to prevent any rubbing of the coil spring.

Basically either way you go Daystar or Autospring it'll be a good choice.

Another option to level it would be drop shackles for the rear.

Who the hell would ever drop a 4x4?

I have the Daystars and have no problems with them. I just put 325/60/18's on with absolutley no rubbing at all.

I guess everyone looks at it different. I would not lower my 4x4 either, but I do use my truck and take it off road. He!! the first day I had it I drug the transfer case skid plate going to the cabin and I knew the front end had to come up. My 02 lariat had much better clearance than the 04.

Plus I want to be higher than others just incase someone decides to hit me head on.

I used the Rancho RS9000XXX Shock replacement. The shocks that come on these trucks aren't that great and need to be replaced anyway. The shock comes with the lift adjustment collar that adjusts from 0" to 2.5" and are also adjustable for firmness. I raised mine 1.5" and set the stiffness to 5. The ride and handling is much improved.

Who asked you? I was merely presenting an alternative solution. You do what you want with your truck and I'll do what I want with mine.

I have the 2.5" daystar on mine. So far I love it. $450 seems a little steep though, you might want to shop that around. I paid $125 for my kit and $150 to have it installed, including alignment. I had the guys at the ford place do mine after hours. They are looking for extra cash this time of year!

Last time I checked this is a public discussion, so my opinion is merely that.....MY OPINION. I never told you not to lower your 4x4, so you keep doing whatever you'd like to your truck. Like adding curbfeelers, carpeted dash, decals and pinstriping and all that other vent, visor and clip on shiattt offered at PEP BOYS. And I'll just keep making my truck look badass.

robisten8,
You are right. This is a public discussion and you are entitled to your opinion, just as I am. Please spare us the prepubescent trash talk, OK? I wish you well.

I went the autospring route. I put the 2.5" spacer on mine. Like Thumper said they have new a design that will prevent any rubbing. The old ones some rubbed and some didn't. So I would suggest the autospring. It is a fairly easy install. My dad and I did it in our backyard shop one Saturday morning. The key is to have the right sockets and that they are deep sockets then you can do the install yourself pretty easy and only pay the $125 for the part and then pay for the alignment and you are level! And being level will improve the look of your truck!
