hang on a min there

If you have abs and you stomp on the brakes and they continually lock up and you can see a solid skid mark from the tires, there is something wrong with the brake system. Period

If you are complaining about an exsesive spongy feel from your pedal it may be worth your while to bleed the brakes and get that pedal feel back.

If you have some air in your brake lines some where, the air compresses faster then the brake fluid which means the displacement will be less which means less stoping force. Which also may mean that your abs may not kick in if its not full force.

Im not sure about the 04+ if they stayed with the 3 channel abs system or if they went to 4 channel. If they went to 4 channel there should be no reason why you should have skidded.

You also have to consider you were trying to match if not excede the stopping force of a smaller and lighter MBenz. The benz is gonna have more "performance" brake parts and probably wider tires. And if you were following too closely it makes it even harder to stop in time.

This turned out to be lengthy my bad

Thanks Guys,

For all your responses. I never expected to get into an accident, but I did. I am a really careful driver. But s***t happens. I am one of the F150 enthusiasts and I am a little worried on the repairs. I hope the shop makes it look like new. Scared too see if the truck will run the same.

As far as ABS, that what I thought. It was suppose to kick it. But when i stomped on the brakes, it felt like my foot was all the way down to the floor. I have very bad brake dust issues with the front rim. Man, I am so sad. I cant wait till the repairs are done.

I also hope that I do not a ticketor something like that. But, I will keep everyone posted on the results of the accident. Again,I cant believe this happened.

I believe the worst they will give you is a ticket for "careless" driving, not "wreckless". Don't worry.
