I noticed that Magna Charger is coming out with a system for the 5.4 3v trucks....you might want to check their site.

I'd be patient and wait for the Whipple with the Intercooler to come out, supposeably sometime in March. That is supposed to cost the same as the Roush, but have a LOT more HP added.

There is only so much HP you put into these motors without dipping into the internals.....

Can't the 5.4 3V handle up to 500HP? I thought I read that somewhere. The Rouch only adds 100HP to the 400HP, and somehow I doubt the Whipple would add more than 200HP. Staying below the 500HP max.

no sure what the motor will handle....Does anyone have any proof of the HP rating?

I just made a quick call to MagnaCharger and I was "told" the motor can handle about 500 CHP before she wants to come apart.

That's the same thing I rember reading on this forum awhile back. Either way it's a wait to see what Whipple comes out with. I bet it'll be better than the Roush and I doubt they'll put anything on that will kill the engine. Supposeably the Whipple is going to be a Ford Racing Product (which will probably help artifically increase the price).

Yeah, but if it breaks its a better chance to upgrade the internals, rather than put ****ty stock stuff back in.

well its stated that the roush adds 112 rwhp. assuming that there is no additional drivetrain loss, the crank hp would be around 415. i would think an intercooler for the roush kit would add at least another 25 hp...

from what ive seen stock motors put out anywhere between 200-230 rwhp. on average we could say a 85 hp drivetrain loss. whipple claims 395 rwhp with their kit. this would mean crank hp numbers would be around 480.

just putting some #'s in perspective

Roush Supercharged

I bought the roush charger back in april. needless to say i changed my blower pulley for alil more boost. Shattered the internals after about a week of riding. I now have a fully built block by johnny lightning tested to handle up to a 1000hp... and i also was tired of waiting on Whipple back in April. im boosting round 9psi now. im taking it to jlp performance soon to have the fuel system upgraded and dyno tuned. for round 10-12 psi of boost. It would be nice if roush came out with an intercooler to retro fit this system. so i could boost 15-20psi but till then i'll keep it 12 or below.
