Bad batteries happen. As far as Motorcraft batteries being junk, there ain't but like three or four companies that manufacture batteries for every brand name out there. I've actually had better luck with Motorcraft brand batteries than anything else, I worked at Sears for a while so I've seen my fair share of batteries. Now, if you've got a parasitic draw, it won't matter what battery you've got, it'll croak.
