2005 F-150 with Onboard Personal Computer

This is my F-150 Mac Mini installation
1. 10.2 touch screen
2. GPS System
3. Mac Mini (Computer)
4. Truck Actuator

Now you see it!!!
The Mac Mini is sitting on a custom fiber box to hold it in place. The box is connected to an actuator that make the Mac Mini rise or to return to the close position.

Now you dont!!

Bellow is the link of the computer in action
1.Make sure you scroll down and click on free
2.Scroll down and wait for the countdown
3. You need Quick time to watch the video.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing, with a PC though. What did you do for the power supply, or does the MAC use 12V?

Damn, that is slick. I am pretty ignorant to electronics but that is sweet.

It looks like you can do everything with that.

On a different topic, your monitor, is that a regular overhead monitor that you bolted to the Rail bin? If so, pretty neat to see it set up that way. I have been pricing a DVD set for the back, but because of the stupid rail config, everything runs $900 or more. and those prices are not from Ford.....

I used the CNX-P1900 DC to DC converter. This equipment have a Startup/Shutdown Controller, and a lot of extra stuff. It suppose to monitor you battery level and shutdown all the electrical components attached to it when it feel that your battery is going bellow the start up voltage. The computer stays in Sleep (MAC) or Standby (Windows) all the time. if you dont use the truck in 3 days the P1900 would shutdown itself and all the equipments attached to it also. Is prettty neat you need to check it out.

I used a 10.2" touch screen aftermarket monitor. This monitor have one VGA output and three video outputs. You can plug a computer, Xbox, Playstation, Back-up camera you name it the sky is the limit. I was thinking on doing the stuck DVD option, but using a computer i can watch DVD's, Listen to MP3's, GPS systems, Photos, Videos, email, surf the Web and again the sky is the limit.

No, I was real mad and frustrated during the installation process. I will get back to you on that. I'm going to take some pictures of the locations of the components. Most of the cables and the DC to DC converter is located under the passenger seat.

Did you get the 7" or 9"? I found the 7" for 699, but really want the 9 or bigger. I know it sounds stupid, but... If you can bolt one to the existing Rail box, you can get one for $350.00, and have a 10". Ever tried playing PS2 on a 7" screen? Its maddening.....
