I got my airaid jr kit on yesterday

morning and I gotta tell you...I instantly noticed a difference with the throttle response...it's as if the engine had been shackled down. I had been going back and forth on a system.....I decided to go the conservative route and get this kit....it's the best 130 bucks I've spent so far!!

The Airaid Jr. just replaces the stock intake tube but uses the factory airbox and filter housing, just like the TrueFlow system does.

Hey Dolemite,

I have been looking at the same setup. Can you measure the distance from the end of the tube to the radiator brace? I am just curious as to how much cold air it will have available. Just yesterday I did a test in preporation to see what the air temp would be with a mod like that. I disconnected the stock tube at the flex hose and drove about 100 miles to see what the air intake temp would be. No difference from stock at cruising speed. Plugged back into the fenderwell and got no difference during in town driving. The only difference that I could see using my Scanguage, is the intake temp cools down quicker with the stock setup. But only by a couple of miles. I do like the look of the Airaid Jr. Much cleaner looking in the engine compartment.

It's about 5 or 6" away....if you look behind your Drside hdlight there's a square hole in the frame and that is where it lines up...so cool air just pushes thru as you drive....the stock intake hose is a joke....has baffle chambers and crap!!

Thanks,

I'll go ahead and order mine. I know the square hole you are talking about. should be easy to fabricate a square tube to fit closer to that hole. Although the testing with my Scanguage shows it shouldn't make a difference in intake temp.

Thanks again.

Ordered!

I have kinfolk that live in Lake Charles. they had to go to Lufkin, Texas and stay with my brother during the last storm. Hope you made out ok, or at least have gotten things back in order by now. I'll let you know when Jr. arrives. I ordered it through Summit. I needed a new catalog anyway.

Try this link. You may want to stick with stock if you are in the mud alot. I have a 2 wheel drive that doesn't see dirt unless I have to.

ive got the airaid jr and am happy with it. I go mudding often and thats why i didnt go for an open-filter intake. Does a decent job and keeping the filter dry unless your hittin puddles at mach 3. also got the recharge kit and it does a good job of cleaning the filter

Have you noticed any noise coming from the intake now that you replaced the stock one with this kit.

Hey same here. Put it on a little before hurricane Wilma hit ( the b!tch scratched my bumper too ) Definately a difference for me as well. Very affordable with noticeable results. Only problem Im having is a kind of burping noise when I reverse. Its from the end of the tube rattling that much Im sure off. I just dont know how to secure it so it doesnt rattle at the end. Any of you have pics of your install? Maybe I missed something. Any tips would be great. For anyone on the fence though, its a great mod.

Later,

Luis S
