How do I recognize a deployed seat belt pretensioner?

Thumbs up Part ordered....

Friday afternoon I took a chance and ordered the drivers side pretensioner anyway. Hopefully that will solve all problems.

Thumbs up It is fixed!!!

That done it. New drivers side seat belt buckle put the light out for good. What I don't understand is why the drivers side pretensioner still looked so "un-deployed" I compared it to the new one and the cabel had only moved an inch or less. The passengers side had moved about 2 inches but not out of the end of the cigar.
