if you are talking about how tight the filter was its always that way from the factory all the new cars and trucks ive owned were to tight and hard to get off we just got a freestyle it was the same way. if not then never mind

What kinda wrenches are you using to loosen the clutch? Sometimes, I've had to use the big spanner wrench that holds the water pump pulley, hold that with a cheater bar, then beat on the spanner wrench on the clutch nut with a hammer. Very careful use of a big rolling head prybar on the water pump pulley as a punch will work too, but it'll mar the nut up a little.

i used a spanner wrench on mine, popped right off. i only had about 10k miles on it though, i was suprised how easy mine was. a 3.0 ranger doesn not have exposed nuts, so the spanner didnt work, had a good time with a hammer, punch, and strap wrench

Welp after bolting the spanner tool directly to the engine and then using a 3ft pipe wrench + a 2 foot breaker bar the sucker finally let loose.
