Just ordered my Kenwood DDX-7017 and Navi - Help

Question...any of you with this setup runnnig Sirius Satellite? If so, let me know what I need to order in order to have it. I know its Satellite ready...but am I buying and actual module to connect to it or am I just buying a certain antenna to allow XM or Sirius? Part #'s would be great...Thanks.

Don't have one myself but this is the add-on that will add the sirius through your Kenwood system.

You need a Sirius hide away receiver/antenna. Click on this link: KENWOOD KTC-SR903

Good choice! It was a tough one for me too, $99.99 or $59.99? I think I'll take the nicer one for $40.00 cheaper!

No, but I had to use it because I have the Sirius, the iPod adapter, and the Kenwood amp control unit. You just plug the iPod adapter into the changer input.

iPod KCA-IP500 and Sirius Tuner will work together without having to purchase anything extra correct? I dont want to bring it to the shop and then they tell me I need something else. That little module you had is pretty nifty though...if I had all the stuff plugged in.

Also, any recommendations on Backup Cameras?

The next step is getting some mids. I dont plan on amping anything, so I just need some decent sounding 6x8's.

What do you think of these 6x8's:

Inifinity Reference 6810CS Components - Front
Infinity Kappa 682.7CF - Rear

Te frequency response on these arent too low...I was something in the 30's like Alpines. I have some Alpines in my commuter civic and they seem to hit some dairly deep bass for not being amped....any suggestions?

Infinity makes crap IMO. Both of those speakers sound very bright with ear piercing treble. A low budget option is Pioneer TS-A6870R 6X8 that you can pickup cheap at Walmart.

Personally I would save my money and get an amp and Focal components. The sound imporvement would be 1000% better than anything Infinity makes.

Find a high end car audio place that will demo a bunch of different speakers then make your choice.

I was debating that...Ive had Focal in my last truck...and man are they mean...but VERY expensive.

Heres the thing...I just want clean and clear sound...nothing bass rattling or anything like that. No sub for sure...

My experience when amping speakers without a sub is that a lot of the bass goes away??? Maybe thats cuz my setup I had...on my last ride, I had Diamond Audios 6 1/2's mids and a 10" punch. I had a crazy ear infection and the bass made me go bonkers...took out the sub and all I was left with is what sounded like all high's with no mids.

Im thinking it would be different with some 6x8s', yeah?
