Anyone have the Westin bed x-tender?
Anyone have the Westin bed x-tender?
Thinking of picking this up on ebay.. There is a seller not too far from me that lists it for around 189 plus shipping. Thought this was a good deal.
1. Westin bed x-tender any good? Any issues? Looks nice..
2. Can I get the bed extender and still use a hard (Leer 700) or soft tonneau (roll-back button type) cover??

I haveWestin bed extender you are talking about. must be later model because mine had brackets that went in factory holes.Had to drill holes in bedliner but would have to for OE also . You need to check on shipping for OE extender because it is a big item and is costly.I use mine with a Jason fiberglass lid , no problem.
I recently bought the Westin Unit from the FL firm on ebay. Shipping was very fast to LA (about 3 days.) I chose this extender because I have the Truxedo cover and there was no way the factory unit would work. The Westin model will adjust in width so I figured I could make it work. I went to Lowe's and got some longer bolts (stainless steel) and one inch nylon spacers so that I could narrow the unit (put the spacers between the brackets and the bed,) and it works very well. The Weston unit does have a mounting bracket that uses the factory holes. You do not have to do any drilling. The install looks good too. I would have rather had the factory unit, but the Westin does just fine for half the cost.
