Due to the fact that diesel prices have been running anywhere from $.65-1.00 more a gallon round here with predictions of worsening disparity in the future, I have traded my 04 F250 in on a 2005 FX4....thought I got a good deal to boot, even up, plus the dealer threw in a line-x bedliner! Now I must cope with 25 less horsepower plus 200 ft/lbs less torque. The F150 is not the slowest truck I've ever driven, but it is certainly not a powerstroke. I got the F150 to spin the tires off the line, I could never do that in the superduty without spooling the turbo with brake help. I was getting 15.75 MPG around town in the superduty, 18 on the freeway (trips) and 13.5 towing my (3000 lb.) boat, I don't anticipate the F150 being that much worse mileage wise...but we will see. The new truck is certainly refreshing in the ride department too, and this is my first ford truck with decent steering wheel feel/response.
I would like to thank you all as well, the last week or so reading all the previous posts I could, has been an excellent information source. I think I see an xcal2 in my not too distant future, need something to get this tranny performing decently...

Congrats and welcome to the board! My wife has an Excursion, so yeah the difference in ride/noise is worlds better in my F150. I average about 18hwy, 15 city, so pretty close to what your PSD was getting. By the way, the XCALII will really wake it up.

That's the beauty...I traded the superduty even up, I had paid off 13 months of 48 on the SD, bought the F150 financed it for 36 months. I gained an extra month of payments but they went down $20.00! What I got for the F250 was a bit less than book, but big trucks (diesels included) are not flying off dealer lots right now, for obvious reasons. Plus as long as I didn't have to cough up any more money, What the heck.
