Viper 791XV w/ heated seats on accessory switch

Hey Guys,

Well I'm about to have the Viper 791XV remote start/security installed. The shop wants an extra $80 to do the heated seats on the accessory switch. (sounds a little high, Best Buy said $40)

The install of the system will be $280.

How hard is it to hookup the heated seats in my truck to the accessory switch on the remote? Could the heated seats, mirrors and defroster be hooked up to the accessory switch on the remote?

That way when the truck is started and I push that button it already begins to defrost everything for me, which will be nice to have in a few weeks!

Thanks,

Duke

check out the installation manual for the Ford systems on this site: http://www.gemsen.com/ford/

I know they show how the to hook up the heated mirrors/defroster and heated seats to the Ford system.

On my Ford/Code Alarm system, I tapped into the heater mirror wire with the AUX 1 (auxilary) wire. So after I remote start my truck, I press the button one more time to turn on the heated mirrors. I believe if I had heated seats, I would press the button once more to turn on the seats.

Yeah I was wondering if you push that button, can you get all that stuff to turn on. But if they're gonna charge $80 just to do seats, then all that other stuff too, would just be too expensive.

I'll read into that manual, but I'm really bad with wiring.

I think you will need a latching relay to keep the accessory on. By pushing the button, it will only turn it on while the button is pushed unless the output can be latched on in the alarm.

not too hard if you could find a way to electronically lock the manual only lock... wiring it would be the pain... trying to get the wire from inside the tailgate into the bottom half of the bed would suck unless you were creative
