My first real truck was My 01 F150 Lariat 4x4 Scab. Now I drive an 04 Lariat 4x4 Screw. Loved my 01, love my 04 even more. Notice I said first real truck. I drove a 93 Ranger 2wd for 130K miles. Had 58k miles on my 01 when I traded for my 04, which now has 24K. Always drove sedans or sport coupes. Bu now I will never go back there. My wife's 03 Accord V6 was fun to drive in the summer, but here in our New England winters, it was horrible in that hing. She now drives an 05 Montego. (love our Ford products) but she still loves driving the truck. I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home, but she can't. So on a snow day she takes the truck slaps it in to 4 wheel hi. She loves getting on her employees when they are late for work on a snow day. Truck get 15.5 combined C/H. We love the truck. The car is great but the truck is our toy.

my first truck was a 97 F150 with a 4.2 V6 which I kept for 4 weeks and then wrapped around a tree, 4 yrs later my 2nd truck is my 05 STX Supercab I have now. Insurance was 10k a year thats why I didnt drive for 4 years between them.

PS: Don't ever hit a SweetGum tree, hardest tree if the whole world. I didn't even knock any bark off it.

The 2005 is my 3rd F150 and my third Supercrew. Before that, I had Dodge Dakota's as my truck and a sports car for the main transportation. Now with these, I have it the other way: drive the truck everyday and the sports car ['vette] for the fun of it. It is to the point that the vette only gets 1500 miles a year, and the truck....oh well, that is why I am on my 3rd Supercrew....2001,2003, & now the 2005.

Woof

Bowser

FYI> The 2005 is the best so far....

my 04 f-150 is the 5 truck I have owned...one was a 88 chevy, a stop gap betwean a 02 F-150 and the 04 f-150.
You have to drive all the trucks out thier, to go by looks or reputation will leed you into the wrong truck, Four out of five of my trucks have been ford.
The Titan and Dodge ram reg cabs are trucks I like, So far my 04 F-150 has not been a basket case.

Chrisrud, I though my 01 was it, but then I thought:

Maybe I should have gotten a screw.
I wish I had a moonroof.
I wish my rear slider was powered.

And then my neighbor bought an 04 Lariat Screw and said 'Wanna go for a ride?'
My wife and I did. A week later I had my 04.

First brand new vehicle and first truck, 5th vehicle overall. Still kicking a 157K mile 95 Accord around on the side. Had thoughts of gettin a Magnum or Charger, but after much consideration and the fact I'm 6'7" this truck made it an easy decision. Just sick and tired of cramming into a small car everyday, my knees can't handle it anymore. Strangest feeling jumpin out of the truck and into the Accord seat around 2 feet lower, feels like I'm literally draggin azz down the road. Keep the Max, forget the G35 (smokin ride) and get a big toy.

Get the truck....wife has the infiniti and I hate driving it! Your **** in 2 inches off the ground and you cannot see anything. My truck sits up high, drives over and through everything. Yeah its rough on gas, but the benefits of this truck far outweight the cost of gas.....even premium with the tuner!

Got 04 Lariat SuperCab, this is my first truck and its really great. Since we already have an Explorer and Ford 500 in the family, I thought a pickup would be a good addition. If I need to carry things and when we go on vacations
the room to carry gear, luggage etc is there.

i am currently a Nissan Maxima owner who never really has considered a truck before the new F150's came out. i have never "needed" one and prolly dont need one now. i have been looking at a replacement for my Max here in the next year or so and have been looking at the Infiniti G35, the new Lexus IS350 (which is a tad too small for me)...anyway you see the "sports sedan" thing has been my primary focus.

when these F150's first came out i thought it was what i wanted. like i mentioned, i have never really wanted a truck, they have never been "my thing" however, i loved the look and the lux feel and size of these new trucks.

well after some time of my shopping i have seen a few KR and 150's on the road and again, they catch my eye. i am starting to fall again for them. i would love to own both a G35 and a f150, but not at this time in my young life...

my point of all this rambling (sorry for that) is the F150 anyone's first truck? what are your thoughts? do you miss the car? are you glad you moved up to a truck...

was it a hard decision?
This is my first pickup, although I have owned 3 SUV's in the past (88 GMC Jimmy-what a piece of crap, a 1998 Ford Exploder, and a 2000 Jeep GC Limited-great truck!)
My last vehicle before the F-150 was a 2003 Maxima SE with the 6spd. I really liked it, but needed a truck for my new business. It was a big change going from a sports sedan to a pickup as a daily driver. However, if you are going to make the change this is the truck to do it with. (I also have a highly modified 98 Mustang Cobra when I really feel the need for speed.)

Buy the F-150, and save as much $$ as you can for a second vehicle. You can get a great sports sedan for little money. A 93-95 BMW 325I, 94-96 Maxima and others will run in the $5,000 range.

Best of luck, whatever route you choose.
