Another question for you guys with 24s

I was having problems with the balancing on my first set of 24s so the shop decided to switch them out for a new set of 24s. Im still have a problem with vibration. It's weird though cause when I first test drove it it would only vibrate around 70mph and now it happens around 55-65mph. The shop is saying now that there is no way it could be the wheels and it must be my truck. The truck is brand new with just over 1000 miles on it and it rides smooth as glass with the stock wheels on. I watched them balance the wheels and they only required 2 ounces on each wheel and they were zeroed out. Could my truck be causing the vibe or should I have them rebalanced somewhere else?

I say BS those 24"s have something wrong with them. Either bent wheels or tires are whack, gimme some details what kind are these 24"s and tires???? I had same problem only after I bent the wheels on the inside, had to get it fixed and realign, still rides perfect.

The first set of wheels were Concept Neeper Vandals and one wheel took 20 ounces of weight to balance out. They wheels I have now are Kaotik Mennis with Cooper tires. Im gonna take them to another shop tommorow and have them road force balanced and hopefully that will fix it. If not and the shop will not refund my money look for me on Judge Joe Brown.

have the same problem. when i first bought them, the steering would shake around 65-70. got it balanced at discount tires and aligned at a oversize wheel shop many times to only have it vibrate when on less than perfect roads. then had a suspension drop and then cambers tucked. now road without any vibration. took it for a maintenence check up at the dealer and the maintenence rep. offered a tire rotation and alignment for an extra fee. took them up on the offer and then had vibrations and shakes occuring at any speed. took them back to discount and the alignment place and now im back where i started. im gonna take them to another discount tire co. so they can road-force the tires and ask the alignment guy to check my cambers.

I just put a set on my truck and will be honest with you, my truck rides better than stock. However, my rims were not cheap. I can e-mail somebody pics from my camera phone if they want to see them. My rims are 24" Asanti forged wheels that are a three piece (lightweight). I have had tons of large diameter wheels and from experience to get a vehicle to drive nicely you must choose the right wheel brands. Kaotic and Niche are cast wheels which I don't care for because of the added weight. I have mentioned Centerline wheels in other posts as an affordable alternative to cast wheels. Another solid affordable forged wheel is Raceline. My sister has Raceline 22's on her truck and the thing drives perfect.

Well guys I only have 23's but I worked at Discount tire a few years ago. The problem is a stock wheel is hub centric and most aftermarket wheels are lug centric. Tell your tire shop to get you a set of hub rings and it should solve all your problems.

I agree. Some wheels will come hub centric but most do not.

The wheels are hubcentric. Made specifically for 6 lug Fords. I swapped the back wheels to the front and its alot better, but there is still a little vibration. Hopefully a road force balance will solve my problems.

Could anything else be causing the vibration?
