I've had good luck with the Crimestopper RS900. I've now had three of them over the last four years, (on three different vehicles) still have the first and third. (#2 was totaled along with my first '05 Lariat) The only problem has been one remote failed and was replaced as quick as they could program the system to it.

They seem to have a good range and will unlock the vehicles, so I only have to carry one remote. In fact, the remotes can be programed to operate two differant vehicles, so I only carry one remote for two vehicles. This feature is probably available on other brands but I can't say for sure.

If you choose to have this done, as opposed to doing it yourself, selecting a competent installer may be more important then the brand.

Be warned, if you let the truck warm up long and often you will see your mileage drop significantly. With that said, we love ours and won't be without one again. Good luck.
