2005 Lariat Screw Steering Wheel Issue

I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!! But one thing that bothers me a little.... The buttons on the wheel. When trying to push them on the inside I find that the airbag cover gets in the way. I know this sounds funny but I can't think of another way of explaining it.... It's like the airbag is too wide. Has anyone else addressed this? I have searched and found no hits.

Thanks
Don

I had the same problem and complaint initially. However, you get used to it and I just use the tip of my thumb on the buttons now.

My problem is I can't seem to get the cruise control return buttom or whatever it's called to work.

You can lift the button from the outside with the tip of your finger works ok for me I mainly lift it so not to wear the lettering off the switches.

Steering wheel Controls

I agree they are poorly designed. Were most likly designed by a woman for a woman. Check all other makes and they are much better designed. This is my first ever FORD and I love the truck. But the general does have a FEW better designs, this being one of them.
