smoked tail light question

A few months back I came across a thread that had a web address of a company in cali that smokes lights. This company has factory smoked lights on hand and mails them to you to switch with your factory lights so you dont have to be without any tail lights for any period of time. I have searched all over this forum and the web and can not find that sight again. Its not smokedlights.net. Anybody can help id appreciate it.

www.smokedlightz.com is the only place that I have seen that had a website, but I guess it's down. Have you googled it?

You could always do the OEM smoked taillights. They dont really look smoked in these pics, but in person they do. The red and clear are both smoked.

Couldn't find the site, maybe out of business. Second link sells 3M products to tint yourself or protect the front with invisible "bra". Hope it helps. Good luck.

i searched every major search engine. smokedlightz.com does sound familiar though. maybe they went under or something.
i bought a set of tail lightz from shiftmax.com and put them on today but im not big on euro lights so i took them back off. could return them for 20% restocking fee. paid 218 shipped for them so thats a little chunk of change for nothing. anybody want a good deal on some swoopy tail lights? guess ive learned my lesson for buying stuff off the internet without looking alot harder and checking out the return policy.
anyways im still searching for a web company that will do one for one exchange on factory smoked lights so i dont have to be without them.
any feedback is appreciated.

hmmm, that was their website but it's not working now. Also, they were on ebay, but it appears they are no longer a registered ebay member, and also had some bad feedback recently: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...kedlightz&iid=

Back when I was getting mine done, I was looking into them too. But they seemed shady, took so long to respond to emails, and rude over the phone.

Instead, I found this ebay vendor that does custom smoking. Just email him directly for more info to get yours smoked out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...spagenameZWDVW

Do they look a little darker in person? And how's the reverse light output? I've been contemplating selling my smoked tails and getting the Harleys instead to gain back some reverse light output. It's tough to see now backing at night with both window tint and smoked tails.

What he said^ Yes they do look darker in person, and should match with you headlights very well.

I have the tinted film from stickercity. It went on very well and I love the looks of it. It is kind of difficult to see in reverse at night. My windows are also tinted so I just roll down my windows when I back into my driveway at night.

i have a pair of cheap foglights from wal-mart $20 i think? and put them on your towing hitch bar u dont even have to run a switch or anything just wire everything in with you reverse lights and they will come on when you put it in reverse. its pretty bright and you cant hardly see them unless you lok for them

TUFF4rd, you wouldn't happen to have side by side shots of the Harleys & OEM's would you? When I first saw them awhile back I thought just the reverse part was tinted and I wasn't too interested. Your pic looks like along the tailgate and sides have a decent amount of tint. If they're still $26 a piece I may just have to order some.

Do you have a pic of these on your truck? It sounds like a great idea.
