bed extender with Leer shell

I have a 2005 XLT supercrew with a leer shell on it. Will it clear the shell when I put the extender down?
Does anyone know if this will work?

depends on what type and how it's installed. i would seriously doubt it though. most of them are shaped like this:

/____\

which will cut the swing of the extender off.

My extender works fine with my leer cap. There is about a 1/2 inch clearance.

I don't remember the model of the cap (100 something).

I assume that it is similar to my old Sport Trac....so...I would guess...YES...it will work*

* if the rotational operation of the bed extender is prohibited by the cap...you will just have to place it in the "stored" position and "use" position manually....

I have an ARE Z series topper and the bed extender works just fine. Plenty of clearance.
