2005 FX4 or 2006 FX4???

I am considering financing new F-150 FX4 SuperCrew and am not sure whether to get a 2005 or 2006. The main advantage I see for the '05 is 0.0% APR, but I want to make the right decision. What are some of the major differences between the two model years? Thanks for the help.

Nothing is really different on the fx4 besides the updated front bumper.

Front foglights is only one ive read about. Some of the problems on the 04 and 05's were probably addressed w/ 06' If both brand new you probably couldnt go wrong with either one. Whats the price difference?

I think it depends when you want to get it. If you want it in the next couple of days...I say the '05 for price alone. But, if you can wait, the '06 will be offering the bigger bed and a FX4 luxury package (if I remember correct). Two options I would definately wait for (and wish I did).

Get what you want. Just remember one truck may have other options than they other, otherwise they will probably be the same. Just make sure you get the options you want, if there is something you definatly want, make sure you get, either way I am sure you wont be dissapointed, you will be getting a new truck no matter what. Good luck.

I perhaps would go to the 06. It is updated, may be more refined; and issues that may have affected the 04-05 should have already been established and resolved by now. If money is an issue then you will definitely get a better deal on an 2005.and you can get ALL the options for a better price. Either way they still make their money. Definitely get all the options that you want on the truck to begin with. don't say I don't need that or I probably won't use this, or I can add that later. Get exactly what you want, because adding it later will not be the same(and may cost you more).Remember also that because it IS an 2006 they will want more and be less flexible. Also by getting the newer year your vehicles value will still be strong even as the year progresses. If you get an 05 your value will have depreciated, even if you have 10 miles on it. Good luck

And gets WORSE mpg than 87, makes the engine run harder to burn the fuel, which means earlier maintenance than normal.

Before you think e85 is something special, its nothing but a load of crap tree hugging environmentalist think will help.

Think about resell, the 2005 is already a year old. Buy the 2006 and if you ever need to sell, you'll be ahead of the game.

if u go w/ an 05' try to get the latest build date possible, i've got an 05' w/ a build date of 07/05 and i have the dreaded steering wheel nibble...make sure your test drive involves speeds above 70 to check the nibble out....

you better make sure e85 is readily available in your area and the price per gallon justifies the switch. remember e85 actually decreases mpg by 10-15%....
