Try a different dealership.

I have gone to three, and at one, 'you can't do that' is their favorite expression, and 'you have to leave it' is their second.

'We can't do that today' is the watch word of the next place, so I go to the third one.

They try hard, they are polite, and while they don't always know what to do, reprogramming and such, they will do the research and appreciate the chance to learn.

That's Citrus Ford in Ontario, for those in Southern California. The other two I will do the courtesy of not naming...

I am just getting really tired of being at the dealer...They all look at me like I'm insane when I come in for a problem. They definately are not friendly or helpful IMO... alright, enough ranting.

I think they are not listening to me, They also look at me funny because I've been there three times in the first month of owning the truck. I've had my tires road forced balanced three times for the Vib which is alot better now.
At first my dealer was not helpfull, then i spoke with the owner and they are all real nice when i come in now. I'll try test driving it with the service guy.
I just wish I didn't have to go there anymore. It takes time from my day...

Don't beat the hell out of it for about the first 50 miles or so after a recalibration. The PCM is still learning new fuel trims and trans tables, just drive normally for 40-50 miles before you put the spurs to it. Theorically, adaptive strategy should take effect within the first highway run you make, but theories and realities don't often match with Uncle Henry. Disconnect the battery and flip the headlight switch on for 10-15 minutes. Hook it back up and go on a highway run. Accelerate (easily) up to 60 mph, take your foot off the accelerator and coast down to 40 mph. Do this three times, this should provide some fuel trims and trans strategy for the PCM to work with and fine tune.

That’s the page number in my Owner’s Guide but I got a 04 so yours must be on a different page. It’s basically the instructions (6 steps) you use after disconnecting or changing the battery which lets the PCM relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy.
