I sold the heaters from my heated seats when I rebuilt the stock manual seats to power.
If you can get the modules with the seats it is a very easy mod.
They use a simple 'switch to ground' to go through the three phases, off, high, low.
They will light two led's to tell you on or high. So putting in the controls is the only 'tricky' part. The pads just go under the seat cover, the module snaps to the bottom of the seat. 12 volts and a ground.
The switch they use is the momentary switch type, that just sends a quick ground pulse to the module. The ten minute time is built into the module.

This place is always on ebay. I've never read any reviews on their quality, though.

http://www.heatedseatkits.com/

Search ebay for 'heated seats' and you'll get a bunch of hits. I used to have heated seats in my 03. It's hard to live without but as far as I know it wasn't available OEM for my 04 FX4.

I just installed a set from www.heatedseatkits.com (or one of the 12 other sites run by them). They were of a good quality, but came with the typical lousy directions. A quick phone call to answer a few questions and I was set. Installation of the heathers themselves was easy, and I did it while I was changing to the leather seat covers. Installation of the wires took a bit longer because I wanted to have the install looking OEM and so I put them on either side of the cigar lighter on the dash. Install time for me was probably about 12 hours total, I could do it again in 4 now that I know what I am doing.

Did they do the install or did you buy the kit from them and do it yourself? If they did it, do they sell the kit? I dont see it on that web site.

They did the install. I know they charge about $399 for the front two seats installed. (I know they work specifically with dealers. I'm not sure how they handle retail consumers. I am going to try to find this out for you guys who are interested and let you know)

***Just spoke with them and they do NOT handle retail. If you lived close to me I could have it set up for you but they have changed to $599 for the seats installed and it is the bottom and back of the seat.

WOW...up to $599, thats kinda steep. I may just get them from the other site thats mentioned in this thread and install them myself. One question....can you feel them when you sit on them? Im assuming they just go on top of the seat foam , just under the leather covers.

Steep? Yep. (I wouldn't do without them, though. Not up here.)

Me being a dealer helped alot. No you cannot feel them. Yes they sit on the foam and run the wiring under the console forward.

Thanks Yellow.....I think if I end up keeping my truck, the time will be just right (cold out) for me to get these and install them.

Question

I have the Factory Heated Seats and am a little dissapointed with them. They only heat up on the center portion of the seat. The front portion and seat back is still ice cold. Do they make a kit where you can tie into the factory setup to extend the heat to these areas? Just wondering...

That does not sound right. I had the pads and tested them, lots of heat on the back panel.
Sounds like a problem on the seats. Have you tried both sides to see if the passenger works well?

Actually, I stand corrected... The bottom center portion of the back rest DOES heat up. It's the sides and top portion that don't. Total, there are 4 sections/panels of seat that are heated. The 2 center leather panels on the seat and the 2 center panels on the seat back. I wish everything was heated. But then again, I wish there was a woman in the back giving me a massage while I was driving too. I guess you can't ask for everything...
