2006: 18" vs 20" tire feedback?

Does anyone have any feedback on the 18" vs 20" wheel/tire combo, other than the preference for the style? Has anyone compared the ride/noise/handling between the two tires?

Dude, don't do that! Your ride looks perfect with those 20s man! Maybe we have a different suspension or something, but my ride didn't change at all when I put my 20s on except over SPEED BUMPS.

That's a good assessment. 4x4 = 18's. I wanna look cool like the gangsta's or 2x4/street ride = 20's.

I read in the current truck trend that the Dodge 1500’s ride comfort suffers with 20’s. Off road with 20’s? Watch impacts with rocks. You risk a bent wheel.

My last F150 had 18's, my new one came with 18's, swapped them out for OEM 20's with Bridgestone Dueler HP's. I cannot tell the difference in ride quality and IMO they look much better, maybe I was just sick of "the same wheels". If I could have ordered my 05 with 20's, I would have done it in a heartbeat.

I have 20's with all terrain Nitto TG's as well as the stock 18's with BF All Terrain's for the winter. The 20's do ride a little harder but they handle better in most conditions. If you get some high quality 20 inch wheels and tires you will not really have to worry about "Bending" your wheels when going off road.

I use my truck with the 20's all the time off road without a scratch on any of them. You just have to watch the approach angle you make to large objects.

Go with some nice 20's!

I have had problems off roading with the 18's. I get mud on the inside (back side?) of the rim and then small rocks get stuck in the mud, when the wheel goes around the rocks get hung up on the rear caliper and mill a nice groove in my rims. I would think the 20's would have extra clearence to prevent this problem. My dealer says this is a common problem with no fix.
