REUNEL heavy duty winch bumpers
REUNEL heavy duty winch bumpers
I had been looking at purchasing a heavy duty bumper with winch capability. I ALMOST got stuck near a stream while towing my car.(long story) I talked my wife into getting a winch(that was the challenging part). I did not like the winch-mounts-only because the winch just hung out there in the front and didn't offer any real protection. I was originally looking at a www.BUCKSTOP.BIZ bumper but they did not make one for the new F150. (something about front suspension problems or design flaws)Then I was looking at the www.ranchhand.com and they had a 2" receiver at the front but a class III is good for about 5000 lbs. So you can't put a 9000lb winch, That would be asking for trouble. I ended up in a job in California and a stop at a local aftermarket four wheel drive dealer gave me a name at first I could not really spell. REUNEL. I ended up doing a search and found their website. www.reunel.com. Man, (I thought) their bumpers are
very nice. Not only did they look good but appeared to be indestructible. and looking at the specs their rear was rated at 20,000 lbs. They have front and rear winch capable bumpers too. I think finding this site was really cool because now I have something to look forward to getting. I couldn't understand why a vehicle that has sold appx 920,000 units could not find a decent aftermarket bumper. I hope this may help anyone who has been looking. It took me a while to find something this nice. Good luck.

Problem 1: Reunel doesn't make bumpers for the '04-'06 f150, or at least does not have any information on them on their website.
Problem 2: Reunel charges $1500-$3000 just for a front bumper on the Heritage f150 (depending upon options.) This is the same price range of the Road Armor solution, which actually is available, although it is fugly.
The Ranch Hand bumper might have a lower weight rating, but you can also get it for less than $1000 - and it doesn't look all that bad either (check out easterisland's truck.)
Bottom line, I'm not trying to bash you, and if I'm wrong and Reunel does make one, please post pics - I've been looking for a good aftermarket bumper that won't get messed up as easily as the OEM one.

I would go with the road armor bumper here http://www.roadarmor.com/ra3/ford_trucks.html
or with the warn hidden winch mount, it goes in bumper gap.

Problem one was solved several months ago. The owner told me she had placed one on an 05 F150. And was trying to contact the Wildlife officer who purchased it to take pictures,(no luck) I told her I would not feel comfortable purchasing one until I saw it.She just placed two others (without the grille guards on 2 dealer trucks for sale 2weeks ago. I was able to go look at one installed and i ordered one and left a down payment on the spot( she has allowed me to make payments while the bumper is being completed). So yes they do have for 04-05 F150. They are expensive( downfall) but they have been the toughest I have seen with the winch protected from being stolen. Custom painted to match your truck. 1/2 inch steel mounting brackets. They only build for Warn winches and that may be a problem for many. This is a small company that does not mass produce. They work one bumper at a time and is solid welded. To me it has been the nicest looking and toughest I have seen.I plan on keeping the truck a long time, i travel across Texas alot and have come very close to hitting a deer.(hopefully never) but those close calls have made me realize i need some sort of protection and it is worth the investment FOR ME. I Don't expect everyone or anyone to like them but just thought that for those looking (like I was) they might want to consider a small (unheard of company) that has been around for a long time and is well know in this area. I will try to post some pics as soon as I can
Thanks
