Best super charger??
Best super charger??
I know alot of guys like the roush roots style on here but I have always had ATI Pro Chargers on my rides they seem to crank out more HP but I haven't really read up on the new ford #'s so I was wondering which yaw think is best? I am willing to spend up to $6,000 but don't want to go any higher than that. But would like to see somewhere between 500-600 hp
Thanks!
Thanks!
I used to run a vortech on my mustang, it made tons of power, but it didn't see it's full potential until the upper rpm's. Like all centrifigal superchargers, you don't see max boost until redline.
I would think that the roots or twin screw blowers would be best for our trucks, since they make much more torque than the centrifigals, plus they see max boost early on.
I don't think 500 hp at 5000rpm will be very helpful on these big heavy trucks. However, a huge amount of torque at 2-3000 rpm would be very beneficial, therefore I would have to say go positive displacement blowers (i.e. roots or twin screw).
But thats just my opinion.

Check out Whipple supercharger. It does a heavy increase for your hp and torque. Something like 450 hp and high 5 hundreds in torque i believe.
Something around like 5 grand was last i heard.
If they ever come out with new f150 lightning to match srt 10 its going to be 500 hp.

In my opinion the only way to go is w/ a KB.....period!
Centrifugals are nice but you need high rpms for them to really kick in.....not so w/ the roots, twinscrew, KB etc... I believe the are more efficient and more maintance friendly. The put up big #'s too!
If i'd ever do a blower it would be a KB wether it's for my stang or my truck.

the whipple would be the best way to go, but they are still on wide back order i believe and who knows when u could get one. they put out nearly 400 hp to the wheels. i really dont think the engine or tranny would like any more than that. i went with the roush because its roots and its actually available
