skyjacker
hey guys, i have done some research on this lift, the 3" but am still confussed on some things. no one ever really posted back on how the lift works, any problems or anything with it. will i get more flex out of my suspension with this lift on etc.., im mainly doing it to get 35s under the body, but if i can acheive better flexing over the stock, then that is a bonus as well. I really like the rancho, but just cant afford it so this is my next option.. any info would be great as to ride quality, what is good or bad about the lift, just give me some know how....
I just installed this lift in a few weeks ago. I've had no problems with it. No rubbing or clearance issues. (as long as you follow the directions). The skyjacker kit address the clearance issues, and tells you how to avoid it by turning the coil a certain way. The ride is smoother than a stock FX4 in my opinion. It seems to have less body roll in corners. Yes, the front lifted a solid 3". Thats 3 more inches of suspension travel. Today I measured a buddy that has the same truck as mine with a 2.5" front leveling kit (tough country). I had a little over a inch on him in the front end. The whole truck just has a whole better overall appearance than just the leveling kit. You can tell its lifted. The back raised about 2" over stock with the rear add-a-leafs. Hope this helps. Pics are on the link below.
thankyou so much, so you feel it was worth the 600 or whatever it is to get it?? Im just wondering how well it will flex, have you taken it off road yet?? Lastly, can you fit 35s under there with that lift, i have helo max 6 with 5.5 backspacing, wht do you think about this lift and 35s yea or nea..
check ford truck enthuist as well. a couple of people on there have this lift and give updates on it. Also some one on this board had 35" tires on theres but the backspacing on the wheels is the main issue. I know that thumper had 33s on the day star and had to trim the back plastic so with those wheels (Helo Max 6) and there standard backspacing with 35 and the 3" lift you should be ok, but a plastic trim may be required, pending tire style and manufacturer. they all measure different and class ther tire sizes differently. for example a 33 X 11 TSL thornbird on my toyota 3" lift fit no issues, replace those with a BFG mud terrain 285X75X16 (32 x 11 per ther web site PDF) and it grabbed the inner fender plastic and had to trim. BFG usually understates there tire size in my opinion but some of the best tires i ever owned.
let me know how it goes for this is the lift I want once I wear down the factory rubber..

If you go to search, then to adavanced search and type in "3" Skyjacker" or Wowak and limit to the 2004-2006 forums..there is a guy with the screen name Wowak. He has the 3" skyjacker with 35's...if you type in Jtz150 (i believe) he has the 3" with 33's.
