17" aftermarket wheels/ lack of
I have seen many aftermarket wheels on this site that look "OK", but it seems that every style available are the "spoke" type which I am not very fond of.
The wheel that I would like to see them make for our trucks is the "American Racing Outlaw" the one that is solid with the brushed aluminum look to it.
For some reason I just think that that particular wheel is one of the best looking wheels made for a truck. I guess someone could order a custom made set if they wanted to spend the $$ but that much could afford you a few more power producing mods.
I guess I will just have to wait and see if any new styles come along before I go for any aftermarket wheels....

I also am also disipointed on how many 17's are out there. I found alot of 20's out that I like but I would prefer to stick with 17's or maybe 18's if I was ready to go to all new rubber too. I don't mind the spoked look but I am picky too. I guess every one likes there own look. american raceing dose make several rims that fit our trucks. did you find there site with all the specs for there wheels? good luck in your search. did you look at the american raceing chamber wheel? it is made to fit your trucks and it isn't spoked it has a tougher look to it. just a idea.
See everyone is looking for fancy custom wheels. I am the reverse of that. I want plain jane black metal rock crawlers. Guess what? Not offered in 6x135mm nor do they plan to offer them any time soon. Guess I will be getting some AR teflon coated ones or haveing a set of alumnium ones coated black.
I too am wanting black rims but not plain steel ones. looking for black wheels narrows the field down even more. Nico you might consider haveing your stock rims powder coated black. the american raceing chamber wheel comes in teflon coated black you might like that one its not plain jane though.
My stock rims are ugly. I got the chrome overlay steel ones. Maybe if I had the alumnium ones. I found a set I like that I will likely get. Pro Comp series 8089. They are mostly black with a polished lip. This presents another problem though. Black tires or raised white letters.
There is also the problem with fitment of 17's after Ford went to larger brake calipers during the 05 model year.

Marc, you think just like me. i want american racing outlaw IIs. but they don't have that size for our truck. i started my own e-mail campaign to them. sent them an e-mail twice a week to make the outlaw IIs for the new 2004 F150. one time they replied and said they will look into it. they also make a mojave wheel that is similiar, but i have always loved the outlaw IIs.
does anybody know if another mfg makes a similiar wheel to the outlaw or outlaw II? maybe we could go that route............

Wandell,
Now you've got me worried.
'06 FX4 SCAB is supposed to be delivered this week.
I planned to put on Weld EVO Andros (17 x 8.5) and BFG 315/70R17s.
Thought I finally found the wheel/tire combo with the look I wanted and specs that would work.
I did notice when ordering that FX4s now come stock w/ 18s versus 17s on the '04s and '05s. Also noticed that other trims (XLT, etc) come stock w/ 17s.
The EVOs do have the same backspacing (5.5") as stock.
Do you think the 17" EVOs will fit?
Thanks.
