Fabtech Lift for 04

Hey guys,

Doing some research & was planning on getting a leveling kit for my 04 SCAB. However after reading about rubbing issues, I started looking into actual lift kits. I found this Fabtech kit here ..... http://www.empireoffroad.com/ford/lift/d3101174.htm ..... & was wondering how hard they are to install? Can it be done in a driveway or do I need someone to install this kit. How about the price??? Thanks for the help!!

Oh yea, that kit would be a piece of cake to install in your driveway. You will just need to get an alignemtn after installation. If you only want 3" of lift that you could go with that but fullsize lift kits (4-6") are only a couple hundred more than that..

Yes that is for the new body style, all it is, is the coilovers, without all the subframes, etc. This is the add on kit if you want the optional dirt logics, but you can add them by themselves for a 0-3 inch lift.

Thanks for the replies guys......you people rock!!!!

TXF 150 - I'm really interested where you had yours installed for $630. I see you're in So Cal & the desert wouldn't be too far of a drive to save some cash...... Thanks again!!!

Where is the cheapest place to get the 6" kit????

call the guys at http://www.andale.com/stores/sf_home...SPORTZTRAILERS

They are the cheapest for parts, and then go to 4 wheel parts and have it put on, but I have to tell you that the kit you are looking at is really easy.

If you want the 6" kit, www.sportztrailers.com is going to have the best price. As far as installation in the desert your best price would be $700.00 with an alignment. For the 6" lift, I just think it is much better to have it installed professionaly.

Without installation, what is the cheapest you've found the 6" procomp kit for. I can't find it on those badly designed sites. And Tx, what is the reason you recommend a professional installing them (curious).

The best price I found on the FABTECH 6" is $1295 shipped. I recommend having it installed professionaly, because most of the places that install them will back their work if somrthing happens. On the other hand if you install it and something goes wrong, it will be your problem.

I did the fabtech 6" lift with two of my buddies and it took us about 8 hours to get it done. But that was with the truck on a lift and a shop with all the tools we needed. It can be done in the driveway on jack stands, But if you are not that good working on trucks I say get it done professionaly. We all have mechanical experience.
