OEM ... wouldn't that refer to Ford ... who doesn't make bug shields?

Looking for something like these?

Ford does make bug shields. I'm not sure about chrome ones, but I have a Ford bug shield.

Talking

I still don't believe it's "OEM." It's still aftermarket ... only sold by the dealership. OEM implies (to me at least) an item that's part of your truck "from the factory." I know, it's just a matter of semantics ... and me being a pain.

Yep, Gordo your just being a pain. If its got a Ford pn then its considered a oem part. Now its a seperate issue if it was ever considered a factory option, dealer installed option, or over the counter item.

I humbly stand corrected. I've just NEVER seen a bug shield as an option on a truck. I still think it's added after receipt of the truck by the dealer. But, a Ford p/n is a Ford p/n. Think they have part numbers in their system for say a brush guard they sell ... that they don't make? Sorry, couldn't resist. Just felt like taking another jab. I'm not really knocking anyone here ... just like to debate sometimes. I'll let this one go now.
