I went muddin' for the 1st time...

Fun as heck. I was driving home from work. I noticed a muddy, grassy, wet field close by my house and I said, " what the heck, let me go for it. The truck is already dirty."

This is the first time I own a 4X4 vehicle, so now I understand how you can turn in mud and gravel, but can't on pavement.

When I got home, I had a huge smile on my face and had to hose the truck down.

No. I want to though. I've heard people have had problems with that. Is that true? I've heard the best level for an FX4 is a 2" in the front with .....what's the name of that leveling kit? It escapes me.

I think these trucks look horrid when they are leveled out....especially when you place a load on them and their asses sag....

exactly, level your truck and then you'll have to get bags for the back to counteract the sag everytime something is in the back. Lift too much in the front and you induce your own sag. Use a leveling kit and you'll have all the wear problems and lose ride quality that everyone with levelings kits is finally realizing after having it on for months. Check out some of the pics of what it will do to your springs before you put them on. A leveled truck with bags in the rear to prevent sag looks great, but thats a lot of work and money to avoid a little rake.

Autospring and Daystar are the popular ones on here is seems. Just dont go more than 2'' and you'll be fine. You'll still have enough rake to haul and tow stuff without sagging in the rear. You'll do more damage playing in 4x4 then the lift will ever do plus your truck will finaly have the mean look it was meant to have.

2" or 2.5" your going to get a little wear on your coil-over spring. Its just how it works, if you want the look than your going to have to put up with that or just get a full lift.

This is beyond me, I don't see any reasoning behind this at all . . .

Stick with the 2" kit and you shouldnt have any problems as far as leveling. Ive had the 2'' autospring for almost a year and 12000 miles and only have a very slight indentation on the drivers side spring. certainly nothing to worry about and I get Compliments all the time on how much better it looks.
