I won't complain about power...

...anymore. I could still use more, but you know.

After driving a base model Saturn Vue (rental for company trip), WOW...loud and slow! I popped the hood and it's the same engine as my in-law's 2004 Cavalier...seriously. It's ok once you're up to speed on the highway, but it's a dog. Loud too. A lot of road noise and engine noise. Seats were comfortable. Oh and the steering is way too touchy. Barely touch the wheel and you're moving out of your lane. That's not good on the narrow lanes of the PA Turnpike I didn't like that thing at all. I should have got in the Jeep Cherokee next to it, but I had rented those several times before and wanted to check out the Saturn. I know better next time.

Anyway, I was glad to get back in my smooth, quiet and powerful truck this weekend

What year Vue because they are suppose to get the Honda 3.5 engine put in the new ones. They said that the old engines just couldnt hold up. I read with the new engine its suppose to be really good but I have no personal experiance.

It was a 2005 I believe with only 7,770 miles on it. This was a base model. I know the more expensive models have the Honda V6, but this one had the GM 4 cylinder 'Ecotech' engine. 2.3L I think.

I hate that road with passion...but had to travel it several times in the last few years. I hate the toll for one thing (I get taxed enough as it is) and I don't like the fact that there are very few exits. It's like you're trapped. God forbid there be a bad accident....you're stuck! On the way back, I saw an eastbound tractor/trailer turned over, split open on the concrete divider just outside of the Blue Mountain tunnel. It was just after midnight. If that were in the middle of the day, traffic would be backed up for miles.

Hmm, my sister has a saturn vue with the honda 3.5. That thing HALLS ****. I cruise in that thing going 60 an floor it and it slams me back in the seat. You must have been driving the 4 banger because if you were driving the V6 with Hondas 3.5 you'd of definitely known it. 250HP is in that light little V6 suv.

Yeah, I've worked on Saturns for years. The older VUE's are horrible... especilly the suspension. They have the 2.2 Eotec motor in the base package. The Honda V6 motor that they were givn makes some excellent numbers though. The VUE Redline with upgraded suspension and body panels handles great and has the power to boot... Istill wouldnt trade my XLT for one though...
