i drove my truck through 1 winter season. i drove in different conditions. 1-2 inch of snow on the highway at 50 mph with 4WD for about 30 miles.. and also the same or more snow on backroads at 30 mph. and then also a foot of snow in 4wd the trucks are made to go in 4wd.. dont be afraid to use it.. just stay below 40mph when switching to 4wd

My truck is awesome in 4x4 with the limted slip rear end However, I think like the original poster here said...it definitely is a little wild in 4x2...in my case with limited slip. Without a bunch of weight in the bed, it gets sideways very easily...but I consider that to be normal for a limited slip rear end with no load in the back. However, like I said...switch to 4x4 and away we go. I love this truck in the snow. The only time I use 4x4 though is when taking off or going slow in really heavy snow. There's no need for 4x4 once you're up to speed (unless of course you want to be sure you don't slide the back end out by goosing it too much). The only thing I'm not looking forward to this winter is the salt on the road Oh and be careful with hard/molded mud flaps. I broke 2 of mine last winter in deep snow that had a crust of ice on top of it. It was deep enough that it caught on my mud flaps and snapped them.

Yeah I'll be watching my mud flaps closely as I don't want to snap themm after all that paint and clear bra work. Looks like I'll be using 4WD with the snow this winter on the roads. But when there is little or no snow, I'll take it out of 4WD. Thanks for the info guys and reassuring me that I won't break anything!
