Thumbs up AF1 intake installed

Here's what you get.

Before

After

The install was very easy and everything went together perfectly.

Initial impressions are very good. Seems to have really help midrange power and part throttle response. I'll make some timed runs tomorrow.

Thanks for the review. I am trying to decide on which intake to purchase. I guess they are all going to be fairly close. Do you think you will notice any change in mileage out of it?

I'll clean it as soon as deer season is over.

There might be an increase in mileage, but I probably won't see it for a while. Between the AF1 and the Magnaflow cat-back it's just hard to keep my foot out of it. The sound at WOT is awesome.

That’s the *old tube* design that crosses over the radiator hose

*new tube* design doesn’t go over the front radiator hose

Not only that, but his filter is smaller than yours as well, jp.

You sure about that? It was just drop shipped from AF1 last Friday.

Pretty sure. I’ll see if I can find the post in the “Chips & Programming” forum that TP posted about the different tube designs

Interestingly, even with the pipe right over the upper radiator hose, we still achieved a 5-9 degree REDUCTION in IAT's compared to the stock factory intake - and with the new design, it was worth another 1-2 degrees, so really no difference to speak OK - we just like the second design a bit better, being the ****-perfectionists we are, since we did the R&D on that Air Force One kit.

Now on the dyno, there is NO difference in power gains, so either one works beautifully.

Hope that clears up that question.

Uhg, not this again. AF1 has at least 3 tube designs out there... old, new, whatever... I think I have the middle-aged tube design.

You got the "d" tube

Whoever shows up for work that day does their own design; CA is progressive

It may work beautifully, but I have had nothing but trouble with Check engine light since install. Install is correct, if I reset it, the CEL is back on in 5 minutes of driving. This has been very disappointing and Troyer makes me feel like no one else has this problem. But reading the forum indicates otherwise!

You’re not alone with the CEL coming on but it doesn’t seem to be a wide spread problem, maybe a half a dozen or so
posts on this forum. I hope you get yours figured out sooner rather than later because it must be very uncomfortable
driving around with the CEL lit.
