Need Opinions On A Debadging Exercise

Flame away if you must, but remember it's just an idea. What do you all think about removing the F150 emblem off of the tailgate and just leaving the Blue Oval? My thoughts are that having the Blue Oval by itself would not only give it a singular and prominent significance but a cleaned up look as well. Talk me into it, talk me out of it, I'm fair game. My fire proof flame suit is on

Would look cool, but I thought the emblems had holes behind them you would have to have filled?

Didn't you say in another post that you wanted to add the supercrew emblem

I would leave it be, nothing wrong with the F150 emblem on the back. But what ever you come up with do not remove the ford emblem. Some jacka## that works in the same area as I do has removed it and it looks like sh##.

HEHEHHEHEHEH, maybe a little :o can't seem to leave my truck well enough alone, or thinking of different things to do to it. I think I'm trying to occupy myself with it so time will go by faster until my new Harley grill gets here!

acticus, no I wasn't necessarily interested in adding it just curious as to why Ford left if off.

Didn't realize there were holes behind that badge. If that's the case, Im gonna leave it. I would never think about pulling the Ford Badge, I think it looks great!

I thought about doing the exact same thing yesterday. Then today I got behind another F150 and thought more about it. I'm going to go to a body shop here and see what it'd cost to fill the holes and paint.

Yes, I believe there are holes behind all of the badges.

cyberseano (among others) has shaved off his badges:

"The handle and F150 logo are also gone. The handle is fliped to the inside. The whole tailgate was shaved smooth."

There are holes. You'll need a competent body shop. I think it may look pretty clean, and thought of that, and maybe even shaving or replacing the Ford oval.

i think its a good idea. i did mine. but i work in a body shop, so not just anybody can do it

as you can tell, i shaved both emblems and painted the handle. the oval was definatley hard, it took alot of blocking to get it straight. but it was worth it. now NO ONE can even tell the tailgate wasnt bare to begin with. i have seen alot of shaved handles and stuff that look like crap afterwards, even ones done by good shops

Wow, stellar job! Like the look, but I would be keeping the blue oval though. Again, excellent job!

I have always preferred the clean look. If it were not for the holes, I would remove every emblem. At the very least, I think it would look better without the F150 emblem. Very nice job Takotruckin.
